A Premiere Cause

A Premiere Cause is the fundraising arm of The Zachary Carson Brain Tumor Fund at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.  All proceeds from A Premiere Cause go directly to Zach's Fund for the sole purpose of research on diffuse intrinsic pontine gliomas.

A Premiere Cause was established after a meeting between Zach and our family and Steve Carell through a Make A Wish visit.  When asked to help, Steve did not hesitate for even a second.  We cannot thank Steve and Nancy Carell enough for helping us launch A Premiere Cause.  Without them, these significant funds would not have been raised and the remarkable progress in research would not have been accomplished.

In June 2008, Steve Carell joined us for a special screening of Get Smart at the Wang Theatre in Boston.  Over 1,000 people attended, including 300 who met Steve at a pre-screening cocktail reception.  We were thrilled to have a fabulous phone booth cake made by Duff Goldman and his team from Charm City Cakes.  The event was filmed for an episode of the Food Network's Ace of Cakes.  A live auction at the reception earned over $118,000 with great prizes like a day on the set of The Office, and a chance to have Steve record your voice mail message.  This memorable event netted $430,000 for Zach's Fund.

In June 2007, Steve Carell joined us for the Boston Premiere of Evan Almighty This was our first event and we were thrilled to have over 1,000  people attend to raise $215,000 for Zach's Fund.

See the exciting press coverage these events received.
